  60. Digital Almanac is one of the best programs for hobby astronomers and professionals
  61. available for the Amiga !

  63. It offers:
  64. * Star database with ca. 500,000 stars up to 16m.
  65. * Cross-index for SAO, PPM, HD, YBS und GC catalogs.
  66. * About 40000 deep-sky objects (Messier, NGC, IC, UGC, Abell, Zwicky and other misc objects).
  67. * More than 47000 minor planets and asteroids as well as the
  68.   comets Halley, Hyakutake and Hale-Bopp.
  69. * Highly accurate calculation of Moon and planets with JPL's integration tables (DE404).
  70.   Accuracy partly <0.1'' over a period of some thousand years !!
  71. * Moons of Jupiter and Saturn.
  72. * Textures for planets Venus to Pluto, Moon and Galilean Moons.
  73. * Milky way structure.
  74. * View the sky from any solar system object.
  75. * Animation mode, also saving in IFF-ANIM and QuickTime format.
  76. * Loading and saving of configuration files.
  77. * Highly optimized algorithms for maximum speed, mostly written in assembler.

  93. * Deep-sky catalog access limited to the Messier catalog.
  94. * All saving and printer functions are disabled.
  95. * No changing site to a different planet, only Earth enabled.
  96. * No detailed course of eclipses.
  97. * No picture galery.
  98. * Plotting stars only to 6m.
  99. * Plotting other objects only to 10m.
  100. * Fixed pixelsize.
  101. * No events in the calendar.
  102. * The program will terminate after 20 min and all 5 min a requester will appear.

  110. ########## Troubleshooting ##########
  111.  
  112. If you have installed Digital Almanac correctly and your computer crashes without
  113. any visible reason, please check the following statements:
  114.  
  115. * I run a MC68040 and I have installed the original 68040.library from Commodore.
  116. * I run a MC68060 and I have installed the latest 68060.library.
  117. * I have installed the original math-libs from Commodore, i.e
  118.   I do not use any replacement libs or patches concerning these math-libs.
  119.  
  120. If you negate any of these statements, you may find Digital Almanac not
  121. to work on your Amiga !!
  122. Please read the chapter "Troubleshooting" in the docs !

  128. * Little speed improvement when drawing map.
  129. * Fixed a bug in secondary task-comtrol. DA shouldn't cause a guru, when secondary task
  130.   is terminated before DA (MsgPort).

  132. * Added some dock brushes to be used in ToolManager.
  133. * Updated asteroid database with 47933 entries.
  134. * Fixed a long lasting bug in orbital elements.
  135.   Object was not recognized by a double click and a wrong object was displayed instead.
